ICC T20 2022 batting rankings have been released, and the top 10 players are based on their performance in the T20I format. There are no clear favorites amongst the batsmen, and there are many contenders. Some of the players you should be keeping an eye on include Quinton de Kock, Aaron James Finch, and Corey Anderson.
Quinton de Kock
- Quinton de Kock has already made quite a name for himself as one of the most promising young South African players. He is a talented all-rounder who is known for his fearless batting skills and excellent glovework. He has been compared to the likes of Mark Boucher and Adam Gilchrist.
- The left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper made his domestic debut in the 2012/13 season and played for the Highveld Lions in the Champions League T20. At the age of twenty-one, he made his international debut for South Africa against New Zealand.
- The Proteas have been relying on Quinton de Kock to anchor their batting attack. He scored over 500 runs in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He also won two consecutive trophies. In 2022, Quinton de Kock scored 297 runs in 11 games. Before the 2022 auctions, the Proteas will play two practice matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh. They will then start their campaign against one of the first-round qualifying teams.
- De Kock made his international debut in the 2012/13 season when he made his debut for South Africa in ODIs against New Zealand. During that same season, he scored his first ODI century but was dropped from the national side. He then missed the 2015 World Cup due to an ankle injury. Quinton de Kock subsequently struggled through the Bangladesh series, and he was snubbed by his team.
- In January 2022, Quinton de Kock was selected for South Africa's squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup. Although the team failed to get much success there, Quinton de Kock showed his best form during a five-match ODI series against India. In this series, Quinton scored 318 runs and two centuries.
- Quinton de Kock scored 47 runs in the T20 World Cup opener against Zimbabwe. In the match, South Africa was set a target of 64 runs from seven overs. However, they did not get to bat for the full seven overs. The match was halted due to rain, but play resumed soon afterward and South Africa is level on two points with India.
Aaron James Finch
- Aaron James Finch is a batsman from Australia who makes runs with relentless aggression. He has been a member of the Australian ODI and T20I teams and led the team to its first T20 World Cup triumph in 2021.
- Finch is the best batsman in the world and has been named the ICC T20 2022 player of the tournament. He has also won the ICC T20 Championship and is a candidate for the ICC T20 2022 Best Cricketer award.
- Finch, 33, is an Australian cricketer and captain. He has won two World Cups and hopes to win a third on home soil. Finch has played in the World Cup four times. He was one of the few cricketers to complete 100 Twenty20 matches against England. Glenn Maxwell and David Warner have completed 94 Twenty20 matches each.
- Aaron Finch was born in Colac, Victoria. He played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020. He scored 268 runs in 12 matches. He was replaced by Alex Hales in TATA IPL 2022. In the T20I format, Finch played against England in 2011 and against Sri Lanka in 2022. He scored 156 runs off 63 balls in the T20I match. He has made many appearances in the ODI format and is considered Australia's best batsman.
- Aaron Finch led Australia to the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021. He scored 135 runs in seven T20I matches during the tournament. Finch also played a five-match series against Sri Lanka in 2022. He scored 114 runs in three T20I games against the island nation.
- Aaron Finch is a highly explosive batsman. Most of his 3013 runs came as an opener. He has hit over 100 sixes and 303 short boundary shots and has been the first Australian to captain a BBL team.
Finch is considered the best cricketer in the world by the ICC. In the ICC T20 World Cup, Finch was voted the best player in the tournament.
